POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

 

Registration Information

  • Office Hours: Monday – Friday 9:30am-6:00pm
  • Registration must be submitted before swimmer/s are place into a class
    • Please do not select a class unless otherwise directed.  The Dads Club Swim Start Staff is traind to place your swimmer/s into the most appropriate age/ability swim lesson.
    • Please use the comments box on the Registration form to indicate Days/Times or special needs for your child.
    • Submitting your registration form indicates that you have read, understand and accept  all of the Policies and Procedures that are on these pages.
    • After submitting your registration, you will be contacted within 3 business days to place your child into a lesson.  We take all registrations in the order that they are received.
  • A Non-Refundable $40.00 registration fee is required for all new familes (begining with registraton for 2010 sessions, 2009 sessions are $35.00) and a annual $35.00 re-registration/administration fee for returning families. Returning families will be charged at the beginning of the calendar year or when re-registration occurs.
  • We accept Cash, Check and Credit Cards
  • Payment for lessons are due at the time a child is placed into a class. Spaces in a class will not be held without registration and payment

Cancellation of Lessons

  • Cancelling a registered swim lesson (child has been placed into a class) 3 business days prior to the start of the class will result in a $50.00 cancellation fee and the rest of the money refunded less the registration fee.
  • Cancellation of lessons less than 3 business days prior to the start of the class will result in a $75.00 cancellation fee and the rest of the money refunded less the registration fee. Dads Club does not issue refunds
Swim Lesson Classes
  • Swim Lessons are offered M-TH  9:30am – 12:00 pm and 3:00pm – 6:30pm. Saturday lessons are offered from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Each lesson is 30 minutes.  Stoke and Endurance and Tri-Training Classes are 45 minutes. 
  • All holidays and breaks are figured into the swim lesson fees.  There are no make-ups for these days.
  • Classes that are 2 times per week are offered on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Our Stroke and Endurance and Tri-Training Classes are 3 days per week and  are offered on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Classes that are 1 time per week are offered on class availibility.
  • If only one student is present in a group swim lesson, that class will only run 20 minutes.
  • Students will not be permitted into class after 10 minutes into the lesson
  • Instructors and class times may vary from session to session.

 Absences

  • If you are absent from a class due to illness or scheduling conflicts, please contact the office as soon as possible.  Make-ups are $10.00 per class missed.  You must schedule your make-ups through your instructor
  • If an instructor is absent, Dads Club Swim Start will do its best to provide a substitute. If we are unable to provide a sub. We will make up the lesson at no charge.

Lesson Observation

  • We allow all you as parents to observe swim lessons within the pool area with the understanding that you will not interfere with the ongoing lesson.  If this becomes a problem the Instructor or Aquatics Director has the right to ask you to observe the lessons from another part of the deck or facility.
  • If your child experiences separation anxiety, the instructor may ask you to remain out of sight for the first few lessons ( we have several areas were you can view lessons out sight of your swimmer).  Once the child is adjusted into the class you may return to view in the pool deck area.

Parents Responsibility

  • A designated responsible adult must be on the premises throughtout the entire lesson
  • Dads Club is a Membership facility. All swim lesson swimmers that are not members must not enter the pool before lessons and must exit the pool immediately after his/her swim lesson. If you would like to swim after lessons and there is space available, there is a $5.00 fee for any non-member registered student.
  • All band-aids but be removed prior to lesson
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • Change all diapers and clothes in the designated locker rooms or outside bathrooms. NO DECK CHANGES PLEASE
  • A Disposable and A Permanent Swim Diaper are required for all children who are not potty trained or are prone to accidents
  • Please keep an eye on your children that are not involved with swim lessons. This means:
    • No swimming , unless you are a member of the Dads Club Facility
    • No running around the indoor pool
    • No standing on chairs
    • No playing on the equipment/blow ups that are around the pool deck
    • No horseplay
    • No unsupervised children allowed outside

Special Needs and Special Care Swimmers:

  • To best service our special needs and special care swim lesson, our Staff must be made aware of as much information as possible so that our Staff can properly care for the your swimmer.  You must fill out the medical section of the registration form and you can add any additonal information into the comments box at the end of the form.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the instructors for these students are not registered therapists. 
  • A doctors release may be required for heart conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, epilepsy and anything that would require sjpecial care or emergency procedures.  This information will be kept confidential.

Inclement Weather Policy

  • Swim Start Lessons are held rain or shine unless we have severe weather directly upon us. In the event that we cancel lessons due to severe acts of nature, will attempt to notify all families/students  about the cancellation via our website. Due to the number of students we have, we are unable to contact everyone individually by phone).
  • We will not make-up classes missed due to inclement weather.

Facility Rules

  • The following activities are NOT permitted on the Dads Club premises:
    • Smoking
    • Pets
    • Alcohol
    • Running, skateboarding or roller skating
    • Glass Containers
    • Deck Changing (please use the locker room or outside bathrooms to change clothes and diapers)
