Policies and Procedures

Dad's Club Swim Start
             Learning to swim for life!

  • Application:

    • Submit online application:

      • Complete all the information including listing swimming skills in the skills box.

      • Please do not select a class: One of our trained Dad's Club Staff members will place your child into the most appropriate age/ability swim lesson.

      • Comments Box: Indicate days/times or special needs for your child

      • Submitting your registration form indicates that you have read, understood and accepted all of the Policies and Procedures that are on these pages.

      • Applications are processed in the order they are received: after submitting your application you will be contacted via email or by phone to discuss placement.

    • Fees: We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Checks or Cash

      • Registration fee: $50.00 registration fee is required for all new families who's child is placed into a class. (effective January 18, 2017)

      • Administration Fee: $45.00 is required for all returning families and will be charged at the beginning of every calendar year or when re-registration occurs. (effective January 18, 2017)

      • All Fees are non-refundable

      • $15.00 fee for declined credit cards

      • SEE SCHEDULE AND FEES FOR TUITION DUE DATES: Tuition will be charged on the specific dates listed.

      • Tuition will be prorated for those starting in the middle of a session and payments are due upon registration.

      • Tuition payments are non-refundable

    Re-registration:

    • Dad's Club Swim Start lessons are perpetual.

    • Continuing/Canceling Notices are emailed out 5-8 weeks prior to the start of the next subsequent session. You must respond within 7 days. (see our Calendar for dates). There will be a $25.00 charge for non-responses and your child will be dropped from the class. There will be a $50.00 charge to re-enter the program after being dropped for non-response.

    • Class Confirmation emails will be sent out and Tuition will be charged to the credit card on file 2 days later (see Calendar for Notice and Tuition due dates)

      • $15.00 fee for declined credit cards

    • Tuition payments are non-refundable

    Absences:

    • Contact the office when your swimmer will not be in class

    • 2 make ups per session (3 make ups for Fall Session only)

    • $10.00 per make up will be charged to your swim lesson account

    • Contact the office for Make ups. Make ups will be conducted on Friday's after 5:00

    • No-refunds for scheduled make ups that are missed


    • If an instructor is absent, Dad's Club Swim Start will do its best to provide a substitute. If we are unable to provide a sub, we will make up the lesson at no charge.
    • When multiple classes are having to be rescheduled: we will only provide one make-up day.

    Seasonal Programs:

    • This includes but is not limited to: Streamline, Spring Valley Dolphins, tryDad's and Lifeguard Training

    • No-refunds for registered Seasonal Programs

    Swim Lesson Classes/Etiquette

    • If only one student is present in a group swim lesson, that lesson will only be 20 minutes

    • Private Lessons for Children ages 3 and under and Private or Semi-Private Swim With Me Classes are 20 minute classes.

    • Be on time for the start of class. Students will not be permitted into class10 minutes after the start of class.

Cancellation of Lessons
  • Cancelling a registered swim lesson (child has been placed into a class) 3 business days prior to the start of the class will result in a $50.00 cancellation fee and the rest of the money refunded less the registration fee.
  • Cancellation of lessons less than 3 business days prior to the start of the class will result in a $75.00 cancellation fee and the rest of the money refunded less the registration fee.
  • Dad's Club does not issue refunds after the start of a Session. If you start lessons mid-session there will be no refunds.
Swim Lesson Classes
  • Swim lessons are offered M-TH 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Saturday lessons are offered from 9:30am – 12:00pm. Each lesson is 30 minutes. Stroke and Endurance and Tri-Training Classes are 45 minutes.
  • All holidays and breaks are figured into the swim lesson fees. There are no make-ups for these days.
  • Classes that are 2 times per week are offered on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Our Stroke and Endurance is offered 1 or 2 days per week and Tri-Training Classes are offered 3 days per week on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Classes that are 1 time per week are offered on class availability.
  • If only one student is present in a group swim lesson, that class will only run 20 minutes.
  • Private lessons for Children ages 3 and under and Private or Semi-Private Swim With me classes are 20 minutes classes.
  • Students will not be permitted into class after 10 minutes into the lesson
  • Instructors and class times may vary from session to session.
Lesson Observation
  • We allow all parents to observe swim lessons within the pool area with the understanding that you will not interfere with the ongoing lesson. If this becomes a problem, the instructor or Aquatics Director has the right to ask you to observe the lessons from another part of the deck or facility.
  • If your child experiences separation anxiety, the instructor may ask you to remain out of sight for the first few lessons (we have several areas were you can view lessons out of sight of your swimmer). Once the child is adjusted into the class, you may return to view in the pool deck area.
Parents Responsibility
  • A designated responsible adult must be on the premises throughout the entire lesson
  • Dad's Club is a membership facility. All swim lesson swimmers that are not members must exit the pool immediately after his/her swim lessons. 
  • All Band-Aids must be removed prior to lesson
  • Long hair must be tied back
  • Change all diapers and clothes in the designated locker rooms or outside bathrooms. NO DECK CHANGES PLEASE
  • A Disposable and A Permanent Swim Diaper are required for all children who are not potty trained or are prone to accidents
  • Please keep an eye on your children that are not involved with swim lessons. This means:
    • No swimming, unless you are a member of the Dad's Club Facility
    • No standing on chairs
    • No playing on the equipment/blow ups that are around the pool deck
    • No horseplay
    • No unsupervised children allowed outside
Special Needs and Special Care Swimmers
  • To best service our special needs and special care swim lesson, our staff must be made aware of as much information as possible so that our staff can properly care for the your swimmer. You must fill out the medical section of the registration form and you can add any additional information into the comments box at the end of the form.
  • Unless otherwise stated, the instructors for these students are not registered therapists.
  • A doctor's release may be required for heart conditions, respiratory conditions, diabetes, epilepsy and anything that would require special care or emergency procedures. This information will be kept confidential.
Inclement Weather Policy
  • Swim Start Lessons are held rain or shine unless we have severe weather directly upon us. In the event that we cancel lessons due to severe acts of nature, we will attempt to notify all families/students about the cancellation via our website. Due to the number of students we have, we are unable to contact everyone individually by phone.
  • Cancelled Lessons will be posted by time, on the website, in the top left hand corner. 
  • We will not make-up classes missed due to inclement weather.
  • If inclement weather closes the pool during a swim lesson (group,semi-private,private or Stroke & Endurance), if that class is taught for 20 minuets it will be considered a full class.  

Facility Rules

  • Please do not swim before or after lessons unless you are an active club/facility member.
  • The following activities are NOT permitted on the Dad's Club premises:
    • Smoking
    • Pets
    • Alcohol
    • Running, skateboarding or roller skating
    • Glass containers
    • Deck changing (please use the locker room or outside bathrooms to change clothes and diapers)
