The UIL Texas State Championships
were held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center in Austin TX, on the 15th
and 16th of February, 2019. The road to State is arduous; in
order to qualify for the State meet swimmers must first qualify for one of eight
Regional Championships by placing in the top six at their respective District
meets. The State Championship qualifiers for each event are then
determined as follows: the top two finishers from each Regional meet qualify
automatically, with the next eight fastest times throughout the state
qualifying via call-ups. Fifteen Dad’s Club swimmers qualified for the State
Championship.
