Twelve Dad’s Club swimmers participated at the 2012 UIL State championships on Feb 24th-25th held in Austin at the UT swim center.


The Stratford high school boys won the 4A state title by over 100 points. Rob Gahn won both the 100 Back and 200 IM in the B final with personal best. Kyle Rathgeb made the A final in the 200 Free and finished 3rd in the B final in the 100 Free. Michael Miller had outstanding swims in the 200 IM and 100 Fly winning Silver in both. All three boys participated in the relays which finished as followed – 200 Medley Gold, 200 Free Silver, and 400 Free Silver.

On the girls side, Julia O’Loughlin and Catalina Endo both made the A final in the 500 Free and placed 2nd and 3rd in the 200 Free B final. Libby Gahn placed 5th in the 200 IM B final, and Courtney Jackson lead off the Stratford girls 200 Medley relay in the A final.


Memorial girls Alex Buscher, Briana Burns, and Caleigh Geiser helped get all three relays at state for the first time in the school’s history. The girls' 200 Medley relay comprised of Yoon, Burns, and Buscher won the bronze medal. Briana Burns placed 3rd in the B final in the 100 Breast, and Danielle Yoon made the A final with a personal best in the 200 IM. And on the boys end, Jason Bo anchored memorial’s 200 Free relay to a 2nd place finish in the B final.
