Wrapping up the 2019 Long Course season for our age group
program was the Texas Age Group Swimming Championship, held in Austin, TX. This
is the premier meet for young swimmers, as it features the best 14 and under
swimmers in the State of Texas. It was a long and grueling meet – 4 ½ days of
competition – but Dad’s Club swimmers stepped up in true fashion, stringing
together numerous fantastic swims. We had 17 swimmers in attendance; 13 of them
swimming individual events. Our individual qualifiers were:

50 Free Rounding out our TAGS roster were relay only swimmers Quinn Belmar, Bailey Bergen, Ian O’Neil and Avery Pham. Qualifying for TAGS is no easy feat, and we are proud of all of our Dad’s Club swimmers who made it to this meet! As a team, Dad’s Club finished the competition tied for 12th place. Given that there are over 80+ teams from across the State of Texas represented at this meet, overall team standings always ends up being a fierce competition. We’d like to acknowledge our athletes who placed in the Top 16 in their respective individual events, scoring points for the team. Finishing as the fastest in the State in their respective age groups, Renee won the 50 Free, 100 Free and 50 Fly, while Eloise took Gold in the 50 Fly and 100 Fly. Congrats ladies! Competitive swimming is all about reaching the next level of the sport. For two young ladies, they made that happen by qualifying for NCSA Junior Nationals, a rare occurrence amongst age group athletes. Kassidy Kitchel earned her first NCSA cut in the 200 IM and Eloise Williamson notched her first cut in the 100 Fly. Congrats to these two girls on this amazing accomplishment! Dad’s Club has a long standing tradition of putting together dominant relays, and this season proved no different. Relays score double the points at this meet and therefore are a big contributing factor to our overall team score. Often times, it brings out the best that Dad’s Club has ever seen. Congrats to Eloise Williamson, who tied the 11-12 Girls LCM 50 Free Team Record with a time of 28.04. Eloise also set a new team record in the 11-12 Girls LCM 50 Fly (28.72) and 100 Fly (1:04.42)! Renee Nealon set a team record in the 10 & Under Girls LCM 100 Free (1:04.94) and 200 Free (2:25.08). Renee also set a team record in the 10 & Under Girls LCM 50 Back (35.83), beating out the existing record by only 0.01! Also breaking team records were our 13-14 Girls relays. 4 of the 5 relays swum by these ladies were the fastest that a Dad’s Club relay has ever swum for this age group! Several great races, lots of cheering for their teammates, mentoring the younger swimmers at the meet, we can’t say enough how well our athletes did on all levels of the competition.
