Tags was
held at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah March 1-4. Tags is the fastest Age
group, 14 & Under, meet in the state of Texas. You must have qualifying
times in order to swim at this meet. Dads Club finished 14th overall
out of 79 teams. Our boys finished 26th and our girls finished 7th.
We had 26 kids that made the trip and here they are:

Individual Finalists Friday Kassidy Kitchel starts us off with a 4.14 second drop in the 200 fly to finish 10th overall in the 11-12 age group. Attack mode. Larkin Helman lights it up with a 5.91 second drop for the 11-12 boys finishing 7th. Great start Sydney Smith starts off her finals with a 3rd place finish in the 13-14 girls 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.44. Bailey Bergen was seeded 21st and finished 15th in the 10 & under girls 200 free dropping 1.38 seconds. Great job Bailey. Renee Nealon starts her TAGS off dropping 5.06 seconds in the 10 & under girls 200 free moving up 15 spots to finish 11th in the state. Wow! Avery Pham moves from 22nd seed to 14th overall in the 10 & under girls 200 free dropping 1.85 seconds. Move on up Avery. Nice! Kassidy Kitchel is back in finals again, this time in the 11-12 girls 200 free finishing 12th with a personal best of 2:00.20. Starting to catch fire. Renee Nealon is back in finals again. She qualified 15th and finished 10th overall in the 10 & under girls 100 IM. Nice job Renee. Larkin Helman was seeded 27th and finished 12th in the 11-12 boys 100 IM by dropping 2.74 seconds. Heating up!
Saturday Once again Kassidy Kitchel leads the way with a great swim in the 11-12 girls 200 IM. Kassidy was seeded 16th and finishes 5th overall in the state. Awesome! Larkin Helman makes another A final but this time in the 11-12 boys 200 IM. He finished 8th overall with a 4 second drop. Renee Nealon makes the A final and finished 5th in the state in the 50 free for 10 & under girls. Grip and rip young lady. Isabella Alas and Megan Zaunich tie in the 13-14 girls 50 free finishing 14th overall with a time of 24.39. Way to race ladies. Eloise Williamson has her first TAGS finals swim as an 11 year old and crushes it finishing 9th overall and winning the B final with a time of 25.49. Sydney Smith rises to the occasion with a 7th place finish in the 13-14 girls 200 breaststroke. Lowell Moss makes his first TAGS and his first TAGS final in the 200 breaststroke dropping 2.06 seconds and finishing 15th in Texas for 11-12 boys. Great swim. Renee Nealon drops crazy time, 4.66 seconds, in the 10 & under girls 100 fly to win the B final and place 9th. Definitely rising to the occasion. Kassidy Kitchel continues to heat up with a 15th place finish in the 11-12 girls 100 fly. Girl on Fire! Larkin Helman drops 1.66 seconds to place 13th in the 11-12 boys 100 fly. Fantastic!
Sunday Larkin Helman is back in the pool again but this time in the 50 breaststroke. Larkin finished 13th in his 5th final of the meet. Stepping up to the moment? I think so. Avery Pham lights it up again but this time in the 10 & under girls 100 free dropping 1.32 seconds to place 14th overall in the state. Fantastic swim. Renee Nealon crushes her 100 free style time by 1.94 seconds and places 11th in the 10 & under girl’s age group. Awesome. Kassidy Kitchel also makes her 5th final of the meet and drops 1.18 seconds in the 100 free for 11-12 girls. Why to race Kassidy! Larkin grips it and rips it in the 11-12 boys 100 free and places 15th in the state to finish his 2017 short course TAGS. Way to go young man. Megan Zuanich races to a 10th place finish in the 13-14 girls 100 free. She was seeded 27th and moves up 17 places for her first TAGS as a 13 year old. | Isabella Alas really steps it up in
finals going from a 52.91 in prelims to a 52.09 in finals. She moved up 16
places to finish 5th overall in the 13-14 girls 100 free. This is
second on Dads Club for 13-14 year old girls.
Sydney Smith finishes her TAGs with a great swim in the 13-14 girls 200 IM placing 7th in the state. She just turned 13 a couple weeks before TAGS. Fantastic job Syd. Avery Pham makes her second final of the night but this time in the 50 fly. Her time of 31.45 placed her 15th overall. Great swim day Avery. Renee Nealon makes her last final of the meet in the 50 fly making this her 6th final of the meet. Her time of 30.75 places her 11th. Congrats on a great meet. Kassidy Kitchel and Allison Ortiz had fantastic swims in the 11-12 girls 50 fly. This is Allison’s first TAGS and she stepped up to finish 11th overall. Kassidy rocks it again placing 10th. Congratulations girls Larkin Helman made finals in all 7 of his events. He finished off TAGS coming in 14th in the 11-12 boys 50 fly. Awesome job.
