TAGS Champions, finalists, and team records!

The Texas Age Group Swimming Championships (TAGS) for long-course were held July 20-24 in Austin's UT swim center.
Representing Dad's Club were Briana Burns, Alexandra Buscher, Olivia Cone, Caddie Dull, Sophie Newell, Meghan Parsons, Tyler Presswood, Syuen See, Kelsie & Erika Stephenson, Lauren Steudtner, Clarissa Vincent, Tara Virginillo, and Cooper Wozencraft.

1 state champion, 7 team records, and many finals were rewards for all the hard work!
On the last day of competition, the 13-14 girls completed the sweep of breaking all 5 relay team records, with Briana Burns, Tara Virginillo, Alex Buscher, and Erika Stephenson finishing the 200 Medley relay in 2:07.31 (6th). Cooper Wozencraft finaled in 50 the Free and 100 Back. He also broke the old team record in the 100 Back as top finalist, but had to scratch because of the upcoming Zones week. Sophie Newell medalled in 50 Free, and Tara Virginillo finaled but also had to scratch because of Zones. The 10 & Under 200 medley team finished 7th with Sophie Newell, Clarissa Vincent, Kelsie Stephenson, and Lauren Steudtner.
 
On Saturday, the team record in the 200 Free relay fell as well, with Alex Buscher, Erika Stephenson, Caddie Dull, and Meghan Parsons finishing in 1:56.23. Tara Virginillo (2nd) and Briana Burns (4th) in the finalled  together in the 100 Breast. Cooper Wozencraft medalled in the 200 Back and 50 Fly. The 10 & Under girls relay team came in 7th, with Sophie Newell, Lauren Steudtner, Olivia Cone, and Kelsie Stephenson.

And another team record bit the dust on Friday, when Erika Stephenson, Alex Buscher, Caddie Dull, and Meghan Parsons finish the 400 Free relay in 4:10.60.

Cooper Wozencraft (12) shattered his own team record in the 50 back when winning at TAGS in 30.80! Alex Buscher (13) finaled in 200 Free and 100 Fly.
On Thursday, Briana Burns, Tara Virginillo, Alex Buscher, and Erika Stephenson knocked more than 2 seconds off the old record from 1986, coming in 6th in the 400 Medley relay (13-14) with a time of 4:40.36. 
Making finals were Clarissa Vincent (10) in 50 Breast, Sophie Newell (10) in 50 Back, and Cooper Wozencraft (12) in 100 Free.

First day, Wednesday, Caddie Dull, Erika Stephenson, Meghan Parsons, and Alex Buscher broke the 800 Free relay (13-14) record from 1975 by 5 seconds, with a time of 9:04.06 and a 7th place.
