Swim Marathon FAQ's

Q: What are the Marathon start times? 


 

Q: What if my swimmer can’t make the group start time on Marathon Day? 
A: Don’t worry – no one misses out! Everyone swims – Everyone fundraises! Everyone gets a T-shirt, etc….
Check with your coach to see when the make-up day is to swim!

Q: Is there a minimum dollar amount swimmers should raise? 
A: Yes! As indicated in the annual swim team registration forms, there is a minimum requirement for each swimmer. It is the same as last year.
  • Blue and White practice groups - $75
  • Bronze, Silver, Gold, Senior, Sr. Elite - $150
  • Masters, Tri-Swim, Members – $35 Entry Fee
Q: When is the money due?
A: The donations are due on Oct 25th - the day of the Marathon. Although on-line donations are strongly preferred, if a swimmer has collected pledges (on a per length basis and/or checks are given) the money is due on Monday Nov 3rd.  Please scroll down to the bottom of this page to download an example Pledge Sheet if you need one.

Q: How do I find out if my employer has a matching donation or volunteer grant program?
A: Check with your Human Resources or Community Affairs department to find out what grants they may offer and any forms they would require. There are also websites out there that can find this out for you! If you need any help filling out the forms or unsure what your company offers please contact Heather Buscher at hbuscher@gmail.com

Q: Can I get more information on this year’s Marathon Theme?
A: You will notice that this year Dad’s Club has a Greek theme for the Swim Marathon. This years theme is "Aien Aristeuein": "Ever to excel, to do better than others, and to bring glory to your forebears, who indeed were very great..." --Homer's Iliad.  For more information about this years theme or how the money will be used, take a look at the central fundraising page on the web http://www.active.com/donate/dadsclubswimteam2014

Q: I did not get an email with a link to my personal fundraising page, how do I get one?
A: Everyone should have received the web link to his or her individual fundraising page in Sept, directly from ActiveGiving givingsupport@active.com. If you didn’t receive the email from ActiveGiving with your link, or you need any help with customization – please contact: Heather Buscher at hbuscher@gmail.com

Q: How do I customize my personal fundraising page?
A. Research has shown that donors are more generous when the fundraising is personalized! You can personalize your fundraising page with a photo and a sentence or two about what Dad’s Club means to you! Login to http://www.active.com/donations with your username and password (from the original email from givingsupport@active.com) to access your Campaign HQ to edit it. If you didn’t receive the email from Active Giving with your link and password, or you need any help with customization – please contact: Heather Buscher at hbuscher@gmail.com
