Swim Marathon 2016 - FAQ's

posted Oct 16, 2016, 11:46 AM by DCST Swim Marathon   [ updated Oct 22, 2016, 9:28 PM ]
Q: What are the Marathon start times?
A: The start times for each group are posted here and may be adjusted slightly closer to the day. The date for the Mavericks swim will be announced later.

Q: What if my swimmer can’t make the group swim on Marathon Day?
A: We would really love everyone to participate on the official marathon date. It's a fun experience to complete it together with all their teammates.

However; no one misses out! Everyone on the swim team swims – Everyone fundraises! Everyone gets a T-shirt, etc….  Check with your coach to see when the make-up day will be to swim!

Q: Is there a minimum dollar amount swimmers should raise?

A: Yes! As indicated in the annual swim team registration agreement, there is a minimum requirement for each swimmer to raise.

  • Blue and White practice groups - $150

  • Bronze, Silver, Gold, Senior, Sr. Elite - $200

  • Masters, Tri-Swim, Members – $40 Entry Fee

Q: How do I find out if my employer has a matching donation or volunteer grant program?

A: Check with your Human Resources or Community Affairs department to find out what grants they may offer and any forms they would require. There are also websites out there that can find this out for you! If you need any help filling out your company's forms or are unsure what your company offers please contact Linda Kutac at

Q: What is this year’s Marathon Theme?

A: This year's theme is Swimming Across the Gulf... The money raised goes towards maintaining our facilities as well as allocating up to 25% on special improvement projects. Our goal this year is $100,000.

Q. My swimmer would like to gather pledges instead of asking for straight donations. Do you have a pledge sheet we could user?

A. See attachment below for the 2016 Pledge Sheet

Q: I did not receive an email with a link to my swimmers personal fundraising page, how do I get it?

A: Everyone should have received an email on or before Sat. Oct. 15, directly from If you can't find the email from @crowdrise with instructions to setup your swimmers password and account information, please check your Spam or Junk folders. As a reminder, the email would have gone to the email address that the Dads Club has on file for you.

If you are still unable to locate the @crowdrise email, or if the activation buttons in that email are no longer active, go to in the email address that Dads Club has on file for you and select Forgot Password?

If you have more than 1 swimmer in your family: you would have received an email from @crowdrise for one swimmer using the email address that we had on file for you. Follow the CrowdRise instructions for that swimmer first. You would have also received an email on Sat. Oct. 15 from, detailing the pseudo-email account and password to use for the subsequent swimmers, (the ones where you did not receive any instructions from CrowdRise). Please contact us at the above email if you have any questions.

Q: How do I customize my swimmers' personal fundraising page?

A. Research has shown that donors are more generous when the fundraising is personalized! You can personalize your fundraising page with a photo and a sentence or two about what Dad’s Club means to you!

  1. Login to your swimmers account at

  2. Go to the top right icon and select SWIM TEAM from the drop down menu
