Congratulations to Kassidy Kitchel and Eloise Williamson for qualifying for the 2020 USA Swimming Southern Zone Select Camp!

The Southern Zone is comprised of LSCs from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia. A total of 28 male and 28 female athletes were selected from the Southern Zone to attend the camp. Selection criteria are as follows:

·         28 girls ages 12 and 13, 28 boys ages 13 and 14.

·         14 athletes of each gender are selected based off their IMX point scores.

·         14 additional athletes of each gender are selected based off the fastest swimmer in the Southern Zone for each Long Course Meter Olympic event. If a swimmer was already selected based off an IMX score, the next fastest swimmer is selected.

·         IMX scores and performances were based off the 2019 LCM season.

Kassidy qualified for the camp with her IMX score, which is a combination of her long course performances in the 400 Free, 200 Fly, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 200 IM and 400 IM. Eloise qualified with her 100 Meter Fly performance from 2019 TAGS, where she won the 11-12 Girls event with a time of 1:04.42. You can see the entire roster list here.

The camp was originally supposed to take place at the University of Louisville, headed by some of the country’s most accomplished coaches, but due to COVID-19 the camp will be taking place virtually, and will include classes and discussions from current and former National Team athletes.

Congrats to Kassidy and Eloise for their amazing accomplishments! We are proud of both of these girls and proud to be a part of Dad’s Club!
