Swim of the session

We continued our tradition of recognizing the best performance of each session at national meets. There are many factors in choosing the best swim of the session which include: time dropped, placing, splitting, execution of the race, determination, overcoming obstacles, etc.

Honorable mention:

Cade Duncan’s 200 free. His time of 1:45.01 was a 4.78 sec. drop from his previous best time.

Swim of the session:

Sydney Smith’s 200 free. Her time of 1:47.86 makes her the 2nd fastest Dad’s Club girl in history.

Honorable mention:

Isabella Alas breaking the 1:50 barrier in the 200 free. Isabella’s time of 1:49.24 also earned  her the 7thplace finish in the championship final.

Swim of the session

Aleksa Radenovic’s bronze medal performance in the 100 fly. His time of 48.12 broke our 17-18 and Open team records by .01.

Sydney Smith (right hand side) 3rd place finish in the 500 free.

Honorable mention:

Larkin Helman’s 200 fly. Larkin’s time of 1:53.17 earned him a second swim in finals and his second NCSA Junior National qualifying time.

Swim of the session

Max Zuanich bouncing back on day two. Max failed to earn second swims on day one, but stepped up the following morning. His times of 20.93 in the 50 free and 49.81 in the 100 back were best times and earned him second swims in the A finals!

Honorable mention:

Sydney Smith’s 500 free and Alex Culligan’s 200 breast. Sydney committed to making changes and executed her new race strategy perfectly. Alex came back from a disappointing prelim result and attacked his finals swim from the beginning. His effort earned him a new best time and a 1.34 sec. drop from his previous time.

Swim of the session:

Justice Wenz’s 200 breast. No other swim of the meet got our team as riled up as Justice’s 200 breast.  Justice took his first 100 out .42 sec faster than the time he went the previous day in his 100 breast. The second 100 was all grit and determination. Justice’s final time was a 2:07.33, 3.74 sec faster than his previous personal best.

Honorable mention:

3 x 200 IM’s

Sydney Smith, Isabella Alas, and Larkin Helman all stepping up on the last day of competition, swimming best times, and qualifying for finals.

Luca Burns breaking :48 in the 100 free, winning his heat and the surprise Rock the Block meet prize.  Luca’s time of 47.36 was a 1.26 sec. drop. Luca was awarded a prize after winning his heat which was randomly chosen as one of the Rock the Block heats.
