Eleven Dad’s Club swimmers traveled to Indianapolis for the NCSA Jr. National championships. This year’s NCSA Juniors were held at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis Indiana from August 27th –August 1st.

Dad’s Club finished 17th out of more than 100 teams from across the nation in the combined team scores. In the girls and boys team scores the Dad’s club ladies finished 16th and our boys 17th.

Participants

Girls

Alexandra Buscher, Elizabeth Jordana, Annie Miller, Audrey Orange, and Emma Stephenson.

Boys

Nicholas Airola, Clayton Bobo, Jack Calderwood, Riley Carson, Max Tumanov, and Cooper Wozencraft

Our swimmers accomplished many personal best times, top 8 finishes, Speedo Winter/Summer Jr. National qualifying times, and broke multiple team records.

Some of our highlights include:

The 200 medley and 200 free girls and boys relays breaking the team records in each of those events. What made it even more exciting is that all four of those relays were contested on the first day of competition. This was a great way to start the meet.

Cooper Wozencraft achieved his first two Summer Jr. National cuts in the 100 fly and back.  His time of 56.47 in the 100 fly is a new 15-16 team record.

Clayton Bobo being the youngest swimmer to qualify in the top two heats of the 100 free finals.  Bobo’s time of 52.64 ranks him among the top 10 15 year old boys in the nation.

Jack Calderwood making finals in all three of the backstroke events (50, 100 and 200 back)

Emma Stephenson making finals in her very first National level meet.  Stephenson was only one of two 14 year olds to make finals in the 50 fly.
