Eleven of our swimmers represented Dad’s Club at this year NCSA Jr. National Championships. The meet was held at the Orlando YMCA on March 17th – 21st.
NSCA Juniors attracts many of the best 18&under swimmers in the nation. This year the prelim sessions were swam in short course yards (SC) while the final sessions were contested in long course meters (LC).

Girls

Brittany Baerg, Alexandra Buscher, Elizabeth Jordana, Annie Miller, and Elena Skaribas.

Boys

Nick Airola, Clayton Bobo, Jack Calderwood, Jack Rogers, Cory Stephenson, and Cooper Wozencraft.

NCSA Juniors is the largest 18 & under national level meet in the country. Many of the events have 300+ participants which makes the competition very tight. Each year our swimmers compete amongst themselves to determine who moves up the most spots from their event rankings leading into the meet.

Below are our top 5 in the move up rankings.

Total places moved up
in individual events
 5th  Annie Miller  93
 4th  Elizabeth Jordana   103
 3rd  Nick Airola  109
 2nd   Clayton Bobo  144
 1st  Jack Calderwood  187

Alexandra Buscher was the first of four to earn a spot in the finals in an individual event. Her 200 free time of 1:50.44 was good enough to place her in the D final. During the LC finals Buscher took 2nd with a new 17-18 team record of 2:03.57.

Cooper Wozencraft made finals in the 50 fly and 50 back. His times in both SC and LC for the 50 fly were new team records. Wozencraft’s time of 25.22 LC was not only the fastest in the E final, but also the 7th fastest time overall.

Elizabeth Jordana made the E final in the 100 fly with a time of 55.69. This makes her the second fastest SC 100 flyer in Dad’s Club history.

Annie Miller’s 50 free was our last swim of the meet. Her prelim swim was only slightly off her personal best and earned her a spot in the B final. During the finals Miller sprinted her way to victory and achieved her first Olympic Trial qualifying time in the process.
