The Senior, Sr. Elite teams and some of our alumni celebrated the New Year with our first annual New Year’s Eve Blue vs. White Dual Meet. The meet was held in the family pool on December 31st during the groups’ regular practice time.

Each team was led by their captains who were chosen from our 2015 senior class.
Overall we had 52 participants and 26 contested events (22 individual and 4 relays). The meet consisted of 50’s, 100’s and 200’s for the individual races and 200’s, 400’s and 800’s for the relays. All relays had a mixed format of 2 girls and 2 boys and were worth double and triple the points.

The team captains were responsible for their meet line up which required a lot of strategy.
  • White Team Captains– Alexandra Buscher, Ross Kimmel, and Samantha Wong
  • Blue Team Captains – Annie Miller and Meghan Parsons

This was a very exciting meet from start to finish. Both teams swapped the lead several times before heading into the last event, the 800 medley relay. With only two points of separation, the 20 relay points on the line determined the overall winner.

In the end it was the Blue team B relay that was victorious in a very unpredictable race. All four relays had strong swims and finished in the following order: 1) White A, 2) Blue A, 3) White B and 4) Blue B. Due to false starts in the first three relays it was Blue B who officially won the race. This was all that Blue team needed to take the overall lead and become the first team to win the New Year’s Dual title.
