Eight swimmers represented Dad’s Club at the Long Course Sectional Championships held in Shenandoah Jul 22-26th.

Alexandra Buscher, Jack Calderwood, Elizabeth Jordana, Elena Skaribas, Erika Stephenson, Cooper Wozencraft, Alec Willrodt, and Danielle Yoon.

For some this served as the final meet of the season, for others this was the final tune-up leading up to their championships, and for our college swimmers it was a great meet to get in some racing during the summer.

Elena Skaribas who was fresh out of a great Gulf Champs meet took advantage by getting some experience and competed in both the 50 and 100 freestyle. Joining Skaribas in the sprint events was Erika Stephenson who managed to move up 9 spots from her seeded rank in the 50 free.

Jack Calderwood and Alec Willrodt also competed in the 50 free. Their efforts earned them a second swim in finals. Willrodt, a UT Longhorn, sneaked into the A finals where he finished 6th overall. Calderwood, one of only three 16 & unders in the top 20, competed in the B final where he finished in 2nd place (10th overall). Both swimmers are currently ranked 9th and 10th in our All Time Top Ten List for the 50 free Open division.

Alexandra Buscher swam a personal best in the 200 free. Her time of 2:02.55 was good enough for the win and is also a new 15-16 and open team record.

Team records

Alexandra Buscher – 15-16 and Open 200 free 2:02.55

Alexandra Buscher – 15-16 100 back 1:05.52
