Masters

Dad's Club Masters is open to adult swimmers (age 18 and over) who wish to improve their fitness through swimming

Dad’s Club Masters will:
  • Provide you with a structured workout, that you can complete with others of similar ability
  • Help you swim better and faster
  • Improve your overall fitness level
  • Introduce you to a terrific group of people to work out and socialize with!
The great thing about swimming is - whether competition is your goal or not - that anyone who can swim just a single lap, can participate and improve. Your goals may include losing weight, gaining strength and fitness, or becoming more comfortable in the water. Whatever your goals are, we look forward to helping you achieve them at Dad's Club Masters!

Bios


Coach Dana Abbott
Dana Abbott has 34 yrs of coaching experience. He coached HS - 25 years (1980-2005) as Head Coach, Katy High School, Katy TX; 6 years as head coach of Pope John XXIII HS in Katy HS (current); former assistant men’s coach to Eddie Reese at University of Texas (1978-1980); coached at summer league, high school, and university levels 1971-present; most recent club coaching was the lead coach of pre-National group at Katy Aquatics, 2007-2011. Coach Abbott has also been past-president of TISCA 2000-2002 (Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association); past-president of NISCA 2003-2005/2009-2011(National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association) and competitive swimming clinician in Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama; clinic speaker in Texas, Kansas, New Jersey, Indiana, and ASCA World Clinic. 

As a swimmer coach Abbott was a HS varsity swimmer (Miami, FL); NCAA swimmer (Tulane University) and a former multiple USMS Top Ten finisher at Nationals, and National Masters Top Ten ranking. 

Awards: Numerous District Coach of the Year and Region Coach of the Year; nominated for State Coach of the Year 3 times; numerous individual, diving, relay, and academic All Americans.

Coach Stephen Hall
Stephen Hall was a collegiate swimmer at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California where he was a state champion. He is currently studying marketing at the University of Houston. Stephen is also a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, and performance enhancement specialist. In addition to masters Stephen also works with our competitive swim team and our stroke and endurance athletes. In the past Stephen has also coached our tri swim program and per-competitive learn to swim lessons.
In his free time he is an avid surfer and paddleboarder.
